If you’re planning to visit Banff and thinking about what are the must-visit places you need to visit first and what are the things to do, I have you covered here in my post! Here are the must-visit spots I’ve covered in one day in the Banff area:
Moraine Lake
First stop at Moraine Lake, I woke up at 5 am because the parking is very tight there. You either got to be lucky or be there super early! Even though I got up early, it was 9 am when I was able to reach Moraine Lake and here you go, I was lucky to get a parking spot at one shot! Only 2 spots were left when I arrived.
As expected, Moraine Lake is pretty crowded. The day I visited it was on August 1stst week in cloudy weather, it did rain for a while. But nothing stopped the crowd!
I absolutely love rain; therefore, I loved the whole environment there soaking wet in rain and enjoyed every bit of the beauty of nature!

And, this is the picture taken in the month of June, as you can see there were still snows on the top of the mountains at that time.

Lake Louise
Then I went directly to Lake Louise, only a 17-20mins drive by car. There’s also the Lake Louise shuttle system available. Since it’s highly popular during peak season and parking lots fill up before sunrise, you may consider reserve a shuttle bus if you plan to arrive late in the day.
The ride up the Banff Gondola is approximately 8-10minutes long in each direction and the track is about 1 mile long only. The view is breathtaking from the cable car!

Mount Norquay
Norquay is popular for ski resorts & tubing parks also offering dining options & year-round recreation activities.

Two Jack Lake
Picnic tables are available, you can stop here and have a little picnic or get some rest! You will see these Elks while driving from Banff to two Jack Lake, they are almost always residing there!

Lake Minnewanka
Lake Minnewanka a large glacial lake is one of Banff’s most popular destinations and the parking lot fills quickly. You can take a cruise boat for sightseeing if you come early. I arrived late when they have closed already.

There are a lot more places to visit in Banff, hence these are places I have covered in a day. I hope this list helps you to determine what Banff activities you’ll want to do if you have short time on hand. If you have any other questions or if you have discovered more places in Banff, leave a comment below! I would love to hear and visit next time!
